Hard slopes are always more fun

When you are on top of a mountain you have to overpower the elements of nature; you have to face danger and not back down. When I go skiing I become part of nature; I fall and rise countless times but nothing scares me. Facing my fears is what intrigues me the most in life. In a similar fashion I confront all challenges in my work. I am fearless. I always try for the best regardless the setbacks. Growing up in Thessaloniki during the 90s, I was a sensitive and curious kid. I remember observing the world around me and how things work. I used to spend a lot of time trying to figure out how my toys were made; I used to dismantle them and then try to rebuild them. In my mind, I never thought what I wanted to study or do in my life. It was a natural decision for me to follow a design career. After high school I enrolled at the University of Central Lancashire, attending a five years course, which led to a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design. Despite its precise title, my course had a multidisciplinary program and I have had the opportunity to train and experiment on diverse projects and design directions, from large scale architecture projects to industrial design projects of small objects. Just after getting my degree in Thessaloniki, I pursued an international post graduate degree, continuing my studies in Barcelona and obtaining a two years Master in Exhibition Design and Management from the ELISAVA School of Design and Engineering. Furthermore, during my last semester in Spain I participated in the international architectural festival “eme3”.

After having worked for a few months in a renowned architecture studio in Barcelona, in January of 2013, I decided to come back to my home country and join the studio Minas Kosmidis [Architecture in Concept]. I have been working alongside Minas Kosmidis since then and I consider myself an integral member of the team. The directorial approach in the development of new concepts, the passion put into each project and the way we work in the studio, makes me look forward to the implementation of each new project, from the conception of the first idea until the technical drawings and the solutions during the construction phase on site. If may use a quote in order to describe my theory about design, it would be the one of Walt Disney…

“if you can dream it, you can do it”.
